Summer Wedding

We couldn't have asked for a better DJ! Mike was amazing from start to finish - professional, easy to work with, and so much fun. He made the whole event flow perfectly and kept the dance floor packed all night. It honestly felt like we had known him forever! We had many of our guests ask what service we used, and we were happy we got to point them in Mike's direction.

We're so grateful for the energy he brought to our wedding. Highly recommend, 10/10!

There is not enough space to sing all of Mike's praises! He was incredibly helpful, professional, and responsive during the planning process. He showed up early for the big day, was extremely thoughtful in the pre-ceremony music (playing my favourite artist when he knew I'd entered the building and was waiting for the ceremony to start). Weeks later, and our guests are still raving about the dance floor, even requesting a playlist from him to relive the big day again. 11/10 Mike - you were the best!

Hurricane Lee Wedding

Mike did an awesome job for our day! He provided the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He found the perfect versions of songs that we wanted, and kept everyone on the dance floor all night until the lights turned on. I don't know how he does it, but he can read a crowd perfectly. I have had guests tell me they have never danced as much at a wedding as they did that night. He was so organized, and checked in with us frequently over the last few months before the wedding. Highly recommend him if he's available! You won't regret it!

Solid DJ: responsive, professional and with good judgement

Mike did a great job DJing our wedding. He set up a good playlist for the dancing portion of it, with a standard playlist of hits mixed with both our requests and requests by text message from our guests. He also did all the music for the ceremony, and the time in between the two when we were taking our wedding photos.

Outside of music, he managed all the audio setup himself, bringing some solid speakers, dance floor lights, and a wireless microphone and mic stand, which we used for everything from the ceremony to the announcements. He made sure we were always solidly and comfortably audible! He struck a really good balance between accommodating our requests-some of which were a little unusual: I sang as part of our first dance-and just handling on his own the parts we were less opinionated on (like the overall background music playlist). Overall, highly recommended, and friendly to boot!

Mike was the best DJ this dancing bride could have ever asked for. He took all requests, respected the do not play and "please play" list.

He was SO aware of what kept people moving and grooving and kept the energy high. We had so many compliments on how wonderful Mike was, from staff at our venue and our guests. Highly recommend this kind, wonderful and extremely fun gentleman. You will not regret it!

Mike was excellent to communicate with, and he was flexible - he could do both the wedding ceremony and dance, and handled all his own movements and set up with the building which made everything easier for the bride. From the DJ started playing, he had the songs which I requested especially our song, which really made my day. The music was great for very time the song end thought to sit down no way because the next song you wanted to dance to, it went like that all night long. DJ: Brooks DJ Entertainment (Mike Brooks) is hands down the best DJ out there! Besides being friendly, professional, and reasonably priced, he's incredibly organized and responsive (this coming from a very Type A personality lol). He was so helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process - providing countless forms/templates and song lists (I couldn't believe all of the helpful forms and tips he provided!). He graciously agreed to MC our wedding when I had no clue who else to ask (about 2 weeks before the big day). We hired Mike for the full day (7-8 hrs): ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dance. The day of, he was on time, dressed accordingly, friendly and inviting to our guests, did a wonderful MC job (keeping everything running on time), and regularly checked in with my husband and I to ensure we were happy. Do not hesitate to book Brooks DJ Entertainment (Mike Brooks) for your wedding or party needs - I definitely will be the next time I'm in need of a DJ!

Absolutely the best DJ around! We are a mature couple who got married in September 2022. Fantastic DJ

Mike was recommended to us as a fantastic DJ, so we went with this recommendation and was it ever spot on!
Mike was incredibly easy to deal with, always responsive and timely. We unfortunately had to postpone our 2020 wedding to 2021, and he made rescheduling super easy. Leading up to the wedding, we added uplighting and MC light services, as well as asked Mike to also do our ceremony music. Day of, everything was perfect, the ceremony music was perfect, the audio was perfect, uplighting was perfect, and MC services was perfect. The DJ part was beyond perfect, the choices were great, we danced all night past last call! The request process was easy and guest really appreciated that. We would highly recommend Mike as a DJ to anyone looking to keep their dancefloor a happening place all night!

This is overdue but we had Mike Brooks as our DJ on Sept 30th at Shining Waters Marine and he knew the crowd so well! We had an older crowd with a few younger ones from all over, mainly Cape Breton. We wanted a casual feel with some classic old Cape Breton music and he even ended with the 90s! It flowed so well and he hit every genre! All we had to do was give him some of our must plays (which weren't many), tell him the style we were going for and the best part is he has a do not play list lol ... seriously his prices are so good and for our wedding we just wanted the ceremony and party after and Mike hit it on the money! So Thank You! I've heard of other bride and grooms having to come up with an entire playlist for other DJs and I couldn't imagine, Mike made it so easy! He even has a guide for the night that you can use to follow how you want everything to flow! That was a life saver to keep me organized! ... seriously highly recommend!
